A private studio, est. 2009

Fewer clients. Finer work.

Your grandchildren will inherit your estate. Will they inherit you?

They can.

And here's how.

Over a series of unhurried telephone conversations, from your own home, I turn your life story into three keepsakes.

  • A memoir, privately printed.
  • Your voice, kept for them. The laugh. The way you tell a story.
  • And a way for your family to sit across the table and talk with you, long after you are gone.

Six to eight conversations. Four to six months, at your pace. No equipment. Nothing to learn. We simply talk.

I take twelve commissions a year. I do every one myself, from first word to final file.

The Studio

You already know the alternative. A team of six on every call. A book with your name on it that reads like it was written by a stranger. I run the opposite practice.

Since 2009 I have made books, broadcasts and private archives for one kind of client: people with more to lose than money. I do not hand the work off. No account managers. No juniors. What you commission is what you get, in my hands throughout.

The Commission

The Legacy Estate

A life, properly kept.

Leather-bound books in a private library

A series of recorded conversations, by telephone, from your own home, wherever in the world that is. No equipment. No setup. Nothing to learn. We simply talk, as long as it takes, and I capture every word.

From those conversations come three keepsakes. A memoir, privately printed to heirloom standard. Your voice, kept for them: the laugh, the way you tell a story. And an intelligence built on your words, so the people you love most can sit across the table and ask you anything, long after you are gone.

One commission, one figure, agreed on one page before we begin. Commissions begin at £75,000, and the number does not change.

  • Recorded by telephone, in your own chair. Nothing to set up.
  • The memoir, privately printed to heirloom standard
  • Your voice, kept for them: the laugh, the way you tell a story
  • The intelligence, self-hosted and sealed under NDA

Selected work

Commissions

Most of my work never appears here. Clients ask for discretion, and I keep it. What follows is a fraction, described without names. References are shared privately, with written permission.

Ongoing Broadcast & book series Impact Makers Radio: scores of attorneys and financial advisors interviewed; many became published authors
2022 Privately printed book A financial advisory practice, New York
2020 Memoir, privately printed A physician and author, Grand Cayman

Principles

The house rules

I.

Discretion by default

Your name appears nowhere without written permission, including in my own marketing. The NDA is signed before the first call, not after it.

II.

Twelve engagements a year

When the diary is full, it is full, and I will tell you honestly when it opens. I would rather decline a commission than dilute one.

III.

Founder-led, always

You deal with me. I conceive the work and I deliver it. There is no account team to hand you to, because there is no account team.

IV.

Built to be kept

You own everything: the transcripts, the recordings, the files, the accounts. If we never spoke again after delivery, everything would still work.

Four steps · No theatre

The Engagement

01

The Conversation

Twenty minutes, unhurried. You talk, I listen. If I am not the right pair of hands, I will say so, and tell you whose are.

02

The Composition

One page, not thirty. The scope, the timeline, one fixed figure. It does not expire, and it is not negotiable.

03

The Craft

You watch the work mature in private viewings. No big reveal, no surprise invoice, no revision theatre.

04

The Keeping

Everything documented and deeded to you. The standard is set in writing first. If I miss it, the remedy is on the same page.

The Founder

Stewart Alexander

Founder & Principal

In 2009 I watched an author walk into a room and own it before he said a word. His book had done the talking. That day I decided to spend my career making things that speak for a person before they enter the room.

Sixteen books under my own name. One hundred and twenty-five authors guided to print: attorneys, advisors, founders. One broadcast, Impact Makers Radio, on which I have interviewed scores of leading matrimonial attorneys and financial advisors, conversations that became many of their books. And private intelligence, built for myself and for clients. The same craft that lets a voice answer questions long after the conversation has ended. Every client still gets me.

The right book changes how a room receives you. The right legacy changes how a family remembers you. I have spent sixteen years making both.

What follows your enquiry

01

Acknowledgement

The same day, from me personally, not an autoresponder. If I can already tell we are not a fit, I will tell you then.

02

A twenty-minute call

Unhurried, without slides or pitch. If an NDA would make you more comfortable, it is signed before a word is spoken.

03

A one-page proposal

Scope, timeline, one fixed figure, with you within days of the call. It does not expire, and it is not negotiable, because it is priced correctly.

04

Your decision

Taken in your own time. I follow up once, gently, and then the silence is yours to keep or break.

That is the whole of it. No forms. No discovery-call theatre. No chasing.
